Cooperation project between institutions

PPG DESIGN (UAM) – Center of Excellence in Education in the Northeast (CEEN)

The proposals of PCI – Project for Cooperation between Institutions at the Masters level (Project CAPES 51/2020) and Doctoral level (Project CAPES 50/2020), celebrate the partnership between the University Anhembi Morumbi (UAM) and the Center of Excellence in Education from the Northeast (CEEN) and are in line with the Area’s vision of the so-called “solidarity mechanisms”. It is necessary to consider that the Northeast Region covers about 18% of the national territory, being the largest in number of states and the second most populous in the country. According to the 2019 Architecture, Urban Planning and Design Area Document, the promotion of MINTER and DINTER (currently PCI – Institutional Cooperation Program) is a fundamental inducing factor to reduce regional asymmetries, as well as to favor the training of teachers and the training of new masters and doctors.

In addition to the above, it is worth noting that the Design sub-area has a relatively reduced offer of Postgraduate Programs when compared, proportionally, to the large number of Undergraduate courses in the most diverse fields of Design (Digital, Graphics, Interiors, Digital Games , Fashion, Product, etc) and other related areas. In this sense, it seeks to expand, quantitatively and qualitatively, the training of teachers in Design and, consequently, the relevance and interest in continuing studies at the postgraduate level on the part of their students. Last but not least, the Graduate Program in Design at Universidade Anhembi Morumbi, grade 5 in the last CAPES Quadrennial Assessment, seeks, with this proposal, to increasingly expand and qualify its cooperation and solidarity actions, going in line with the Program’s insertion policy in the Brazilian scenario.
